Spot Power is Alberta's only privately owned retailer of electricity. Earlier last year, we started selling electricity to employees, family and friends of the company.

Many of the largest industrial companies in Alberta have had the unique opportunity of buying electricity based on wholesale (flow-through) spot market prices and have saved a lot of money by paying wholesale rather than buying off a competitive retailer. Now you, too, can participate.

Residential consumers have been given only two choices; the government's Regulated Rate Option or opting to enter into a contract with one of Alberta's '3' competitive retailers. The choice was limited. With the inception of Spot Power, we are offering consumers an alternative option. Competition is the only true way to bring prices down.

Moving away from the Regulated Rate Option (RRO) or off of contracts such as the EasyMax fixed rate plan is simple and easy;

No Exit Fee. First and foremost, if you are paying the regulated rate as provided by your utility or are buying your electricity from ENMAX (on the EasyMax program), you will not be charged a penalty fee if you want to ‘switch-off’ of either of these electricity retail rate plans.
Your Guarantee. The electricity to your home or business will continue to be provided, as it is today by your existing wires utility. Alberta's deregulation policy requires all utility wires companies (FortisAlberta, EPCOR, ATCO and ENMAX) to continue to provide their wire distribution, meter reading and delivery services, regardless who you select as a retailer.
Free Service. If you want to "switch-off' and 'move-over' to Spot Power, our staff will coordinate all the paperwork on your behalf (free of charge).
Floating or Fixed Rate. It is your choice. You will save money on both plans.
